The Cape Town Safari at the Inverdoorn Game Reserve is the best way to discover the typical African wildlife in only one day. You will undoubtedly enjoy your stay and make the most of your time!

Whether you are a Cape Town visitor looking for wildlife or animal lover, you will live an unforgettable day. The experience starts towards inland, across the wonderful landscape of the Windelands, the Klein Karoo and the prolific region of Ceres. It is a good beginning to forgetting the busy city atmosphere and preparing to explore the bush.

The Inverdoorn Game Reserve counts about 1,200 animals free-roaming peacefully. Hidden between thickets and shrubs, lions, zebras, buffaloes, ostriches or birds will surprise you during a two-hour safari. However, the high points of this adventure are probably the walk with giraffes and the special meeting with emblematic big cats at the Lion Preservation Project. With family or friends, it is an extraordinary experience to share!

1

Wine region & Klein Karoo

Discover the famous South African Winelands and their beautiful colors along the road. In early morning, the first sunbeams progressively inundate these great stretches of vines. With the mountains in the background, the scenery is stunning.
Sinking inland, circled by mountains range, the Klein Karoo contrasts with the greeness of the vineyards. It is just as beautiful, but in a different way, with semi arids landscapes and a vegetation more yellow and orange. It is today the land of ostriches whereas years ago, elephants, kudus and buffaloes used to stride freely across this area.
2

Fruit Growing Region of Ceres

The name of the region of Ceres comes from the Roman goddess of agriculture and you will quickly understand why. The valley is covered with rows of fruit trees producing apples, nectarines, peaches, cherries,… and which supply a large part of the fruit juice production in South Africa. This area is even more inspiring during the autumn, when the trees change color to reveal a brown and ochre landscape.

Game Drive in open 4 x 4

After a pleasant trip, it is time to meet the South African wildlife at the Inverdoorn Game Reserve! In a 10,000ha area, roam the paths during a two-hour game drive in an open 4×4 with a friendly and experienced guide ranger. Leading you in the bush, he will tell you the story of the famous Big 5 (lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and buffaloes) among zebras, cheetahs and many bird species. So, keep your eyes wide-opened! If you are lucky enough, your guide ranger will also allow you to stretch your legs during a walk with a herd of nice and tall giraffes. Finally, you will have the chance to better understand the commitment of the reserve in favour of the animal protection visiting the Lion Preservation Project. It is a very special moment with the king of animals, creating fabulous memories for young and old alike!
After incredible meetings, you will have the liberty to have a rest in the pool or at the fireplace during the winter before coming back to Cape Town.
